Pastured Chicken Delivered To Your Door

Pastured Chicken is a method of raising chickens for meat on pasture, instead of in a shed. We also define pastured chicken as rotational - that is: sheds are purpose built to be moved daily or sometimes even twice daily onto fresh pastures, which serves many wonderful purposes. This is more than a free-range system whereby sheds may still be fixed.

Moving chicken pens onto fresh pasture each day is mimicking their behaviour in the wild for both bird health and environmental health. Moving chickens onto fresh pasture is akin to changing their nappies - chickens are not living on top of their manure and this method of production can reduce the need for medicinal treatments. Moving chickens onto fresh pasture also has incredible benefits for the soil as the chickens will scratch and feast on insects, including non-beneficial insects, eat weed seeds, distribute their manure and improve the pasture vegetation's root system. This in turn improves soil structure, soil biology and increases water infiltration and retention for a more resilient farming system.

Chickens are monogastric creatures and enjoy a nutritionally complete and balanced diet of high quality grains, vitamins and minerals in addition to the grasses and insects they feast on as they free-range across the rolling hills of the Bega Valley, NSW.

4 Pastured Chickens Delivered To Your Door

        4 Whole Pastured Chickens!

These chickens are raised using sustainable, regenerative practices and have been processed in our mobile abattoir on-farm. They spent their first two to three weeks in our solar-powered climate-controlled brooder before they are ready to go onto pasture. There, they live the life of a chicken, chasing bugs, eating grass, protected by maremma dogs, moved daily and sometimes twice daily onto fresh pasture. These chickens have had zero stress handling or transportation because they've been processed on-farm in our first-of-its-kind mechanised mobile abattoir.

        Each chicken averages 1.8kg.

Return to days gone by where chicken was a celebratory feast, where families gathered together and savoured true flavour.
